1. Balanced - A balanced eating plan
for general weight loss.

The calorie levels, and nutrient
mix appear to be very sensible and well
thought out. From our own profile, the
nutrient ratios for the balanced plan
appeared to be around 50% carb, 20%
protein, and 30% fat - which is an excellent
balance between the current low-fat
vs low-carb debate.
This program is about the best
that you can withouth hiring your own
chiefs and personal trainers. There
is no wonder why they have been around
for 8 years and still at the top of
the game!

One of the most well-rounded
diets out there is the Sonoma
Diet. There are no dramatic
restrictions on food groups, no
calorie counting, and all with
a gourmet Mediterranean flair.
There
are three parts to the Sonoma

1. Lasts 10 days and aims to curb
specific food cravings. Note that
unlike many other diets, this
phase does not restrict carbohydrates
but includes whole grain cereals
and breads.

The South Beach Diet
plan was created by Dr Arthur
Agatston in South Florida. The
diet was originally developed
for overweight heart patients
and they had good success with
it so it became very popular
and spread throughout the country.
Quick Overview of the South
Beach Diet:
The first phase of the South
Beach Diet is pretty strict
that you cannot eat carbs like
rice, pasta, or breads. Meats,
shellfish, chicken, turkey,
and fish are great things to
eat during this first phase.
This second phase includes
specific meal plans and recipes.
It reintroduces some of the
foods avoided in Phase 1 - but
only sparingly. In this phase
weight loss should be in the
region of 1-2 pounds per week.
This length of time on this
phase is indefinite or until
you reach your weight loss goal.
During the third phase, it
is all about maintaing what
you are doing. Eating healthy
and exercising on a daily basis.
